Ms. Blue has a proven track record in managing People, Programs, and Projects worldwide. She has a Mathematics degree from Hampton University and an MBA from Duke University. She also has a Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University, Certificate in Entrepreneurship from University of Virginia and a Certificate in Minority Political Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms. Blue has proven she has the natural ability to see the big picture and parlay that vision and connection to motivate others to action.
Currently, Ms. Blue is Founder and CEO of Penny-Wise Gateway, LLC, a leadership training and consulting company specializing in Leadership Strategy Development, Management and Leadership Development and Project Management. Before becoming a trainer, Penny worked as a Delivery Project Executive at IBM where she engaged in data center operations, customer care, application development/maintenance, distribution systems, databases, process improvement, human resources, financial management of budgets up to $700 million.
Most recently, Ms. Blue has broadened her leadership knowledge and skills through education and experience in numerous industries, which include: Government, Nonprofit, and Small Business. Ms. Blue served as a mathematics teacher in the Virginia secondary school system and as an adjunct professor at VA Western Community College. Ms. Blue utilized her ability to speak to and connect to the untapped resource in every human being to increase the most unlikely student in mathematics to achieve a greater measure of success in mathematics. She also utilized her excellent interpersonal skills and passion to galvanize communities, as a Community Organizer, to recruit, register, and turnout some of the most unlikely voters in large numbers. She then parlayed that experience to the 2010 Census first count committee where she achieved excellent first count success. Ms. Blue was also one of the founding members of the Friends of Booker T. Washington National Monument and served as President over the past 8 years. As president, she was responsible for community outreach, budgeting, membership growth, strategic planning and program/project management.
